Application procedure
The procedure to apply for recognition as an Examination Centre for Diplomas in Spanish entails the following steps:
- The institution contacts the Diplomas coordinator in the corresponding country, expressing its interest in becoming recognized as an examination centre for Diplomas in Spanish. In the case of institutions located in countries where there is no coordinator, this interest shall be communicated to the Instituto Cervantes Marketing Management Office.
- The coordinator or the Marketing Management Office shall send the institution a formal application form for recognition. Said application form is attached, in Spanish and in English, at the end of this section, as Appendix 1.
- Once the completed application form has been received, the coordinator, or their delegate, may visit the centre to verify the data provided and to meet with the head and the staff of the centre. On this basis, the coordinator shall decide whether to advise the Instituto Cervantes Marketing Management Office to send the collaboration agreement for its signing.
Instituto Cervantes, either through the coordinator or through the Marketing Management Office, shall inform the centre of the decision adopted regarding its application for recognition as an examination centre within a maximum of three months, counted from the date on which the application was sent. Instituto Cervantes shall then propose signing a collaboration protocol during the first year and, subsequently, if the arrangement is functioning in a satisfactory manner, that the Technical Office of Instituto Cervantes’ General Secretariat proceed to formalize an agreement.
